My Birthday Quilt

Well it is almost my birthday again - and I wanted to share the quilt my daughter made for me for my present last year - isn't it gorgeous? She also made the backing out of my favorite quilting fabric ever - Midwest Modern 2 Ivory Fresh Poppies - and look at the tag she made for it! She even machine quilted it in hearts for me!

Had to change my background for my blog...

Well the freebie website from blogland told me I had to change my blog background by July 23rd or else it will disappear. And, it did! So I quickly changed it to this with the help of my techie daughter, Sara. Not so sure I like the dark background, but will keep it for a week and see if it grows on me!

Before and After

I love Valori Wells fabrics! I just hate cutting some of it up - it is just too pretty!
So I figured out a way to get a baby's quilt without cutting it up. I chained stitched around the animals and look how pretty it is! I just take a yard of her beautiful flannel and then a yard of the warm and natural plus a yard of my choice of backing and sandwich them together. The chain stitching acts as the quilting!

I made it to Sisters Oregon!

Finally, I got here! It is way too hot! Can you read how hot it was on our car's dashboard?

Another beautiful quilt

So beautiful and simple...

The Famous Quilt-mobile!

There are no words for this....

Future Quilter

How sweet is this little girl? Her Mom is the one with her back to us (I'm sure looking for her). I just had to take her pic!

Wonderful Young Humanitarians

These little guys, along with their parents, were giving out free bottles of water to us parched oldies but goodies! How sweet is that? I just had to take their picture!

The Stitchin Post Employee Quilts

The Stitchin Post has all their employees make a quilt and then they are hung up on the side of the building. I was looking at this green one, thinking my friend, Nanci, would love this, so I took a picture of it. A guy comes over and asks me if I liked it? I said, yes, it is very pretty. He was so cute - he proudly pumps up his chest and says "My wife, Page, made it!". How sweet is that? So of course, I had to take his picture too! His t-shirt says "Paddle faster - I hear banjos!". Page - if you are reading this - you hubby sure is proud of you!

More Quilts

The quilts had such gorgeous colors... Oh My!

Quilts and more quilts

Here are just a handful of the quilts that caught my eye and everyone else's.

I got to meet Valori Wells!!!!!

What a beautiful person Valori Wells is! She was so sweet to meet me and let me poise with her for these photos! She is as pretty as her fabric is! These pics were taken behind The Stitchin Post - it was sooooo busy everywhere and the temp was 95 degrees cool!

The Stitchin Post goodies!

I finally made it to the Stitchin Post store - Oh My - the quilt shop was amazing!
I must have stayed in there a couple of hours just trying to see everything. I think every one of the 15,000 people who was at the quilt show - was in that store Saturday! I loved Valori's painting of three blue owls! I had to purchase some of the pincushions, a thank you gift (little wallet) for my daughter - for watering our plants while we were gone...

Dollies for my Grandchildren!

I loved "The Stitch'in Post" quilt shop and its sister store "Twigs" - I fell in love with the Dollies - "Blabla". So cute, each of my grandchildren got one! In fact the littliest one, who is only 1 month old, got two little ones - they are actually rattles. Absolutely adorable!
